Today is a sad day for the world of fashion as fashion designer Oscar de la Renta passes away.. A firm favourite among the likes of Sarah Jessica Parker, Emma Watson and Amal Clooney, de la Renta died aged 82 after a battle with cancer, a publicist at his fashion house confirmed.
Just weeks ago he appointed a successor to replace him at his fashion house – Peter Copping, formerly of Nina Ricci. Considered the Godfather of American fashion, de la Renta worked right up until his death, dressing Mrs Clooney in September along with Michelle Obama, Cameron Diaz and Scarlett Johansson among many others.
He was without a doubt, he was the man to go to when red carpets and glamour were the order of the day.
